Lantern Light Tours at Mystic Seaport

Please note, Lantern Light Tours is cancelled for 2020 due to COVID-19.

This one hour moving performance/walking tour meanders through the Mystic Seaport’s 19th-century maritime village.

Enjoy a New England holiday tradition with your family and friends and step back in time to Christmas Eve, 1876. The village of Greenmanville is alive with the bustle of last-minute Christmas activity, preparations for the holiday festivities, and the merry jingle of sleigh bells. Visitors join a group of 16 to tour the Museum’s 19th-century village on foot, stopping at designated points to take in the next chapter in the story. Stroll with a cheery townsperson as you take in the smell of sweet treats, hear lively tunes, join in a dance, take a horse-and-carriage ride, and bask in the beautiful glow of the hundreds of lanterns that light your way. Surprises may await you as you share the joys and celebrations of a traditional Victorian Christmas – perhaps St. Nicholas will even pay a visit!

This event takes place every year in the holiday season.  Check our events calendar for this year’s info.
