Mystic Author Writes the Book for the Military Child

Tish Rabe (“Robby”) is a Mystic resident and the bestselling Dr. Seuss author of over 200 books for kids with over 11 million copies sold. She is proud and honored to have been chosen to write the Book for the Military Child for United Through Reading, a nonprofit that helps deployed service members record themselves reading books to their kids, then provides the recording and a free book to every child so no one ever misses story time.

This heartfelt, rhyming book, Sometimes Apart Always in My Heart tells the story of the Bear Family. Daddy Bear is away on a military assignment and he wants his family to know they are on his mind and in his heart. The book features hand painted illustrations by award-winning artist Gill Guile and introduces Alaska, a friendly shelter dog the family adopted and who is serving his country by keeping watch over everyone until Daddy comes safely home.

The book and plush Alaska are available at TishRabeBooks.com.
