Local Author Writes a Children’s Book All About Mystic

Bestselling children’s book author and Mystic resident, Tish Rabe (“Robby”) has written a new children’s book that is all about Mystic! Ms. Rabe has written over 180 books for Sesame Street, Disney, Dr. Seuss, PBS Kids and many more. She wrote “Mystic By the Sea Is the Best Place to Be” in partnership with the Greater Mystic Chamber of Commerce.

The book is designed for children and their families and stars a family of seagulls Mason, Marina and their kids Marco and Misty who fly all around Mystic, visiting the Aquarium, the Seaport, Olde Mistick Village and many other popular sites. Ms. Rabe wrote it in her signature rhyming style and the colorful, fanciful illustrations by Italian artist Andrea Boatta bring a delightful array of international animals to life as they visit our historic, seaside town.

“When I met with Morgan Yandow, Membership Director for the Chamber, she asked me if I could write a children’s book to celebrate the 100 th Anniversary of the bridge”, Ms. Rabe remembers “and I suddenly imagined a family of seagulls introducing kids and families to the many wonderful things to see and do in Mystic.” Bruce Flax, President of the Chamber adds, “Some of the things I love about this book are the fun rhymes, beautiful illustrations and the fact that it highlights all the exciting things that make Mystic so special.
