Digital Program: The Golden Age of Musicals

Join us for an audiovisual lecture series on the history of movie and Broadway Musicals! The programs will be hosted by Sam and Candy Caponegro, who teach educational, entertaining, and critically reviewed classes at libraries and universities around the country on American musicals.

The Golden Age of Musicals (1950s)

In no other period of time were more great original film musicals made. Join and explore “GiGi”, “Seven Brides for Seven Brothers”, “A Star Is Born”, and everyone’s favorite: “Singing in the Rain” among other musicals from the era. Our lecturers will show scenes and clips from popular musicals along with history and analysis of their importance and longevity.
