Digital Program: Marine Bioinvasions of the Mystic River Estuary
10/13/2021 @ 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm
FreeJoin us for this virtual program, in collaboration with the Mystic Seaport, to learn more about local wildlife, ecosystems, and the changing environment right in downtown Mystic. We will explore the overall biodiversity of the marine life of the Mystic River Estuary, and then focus on the history of introduced species over the past 200 years, and the continuing invasions into modern times. In addition to historic changes in the local ecosystem, attendees will learn about human impact on this local ecosystem and how the realities of invasive species and climate change will shape the Mystic River Estuary in the coming years.
After attending this event, join us for a Guided Tour of the Mystic River Estuary at the Mystic Seaport with Dr. Carlton. The library will sponsor attendance for up to 30 participants. The tour will begin at the Mystic Seaport on Friday, October 15 at 5 PM. Register here. Please only register if you are certain you can attend.
