What’s Your Favorite Mystic Irish Parade Viewing Spot?

The Mystic Irish Parade (on March 19, 2023 this year) draws over 30,000 spectators a year, beginning at Mystic Seaport Museum and concluding at the Mystic Museum of Art (see route below). Do you have a favorite spot to claim? That might say a little about you and what you’re looking to get out of parade day…

Greenmanville Avenue

You’re a seasoned parade watcher that probably sets out your lawn chairs by 8am to save an ideal spot along the route.

The Bridge

Wind chill is not a factor for you, a hardy New Englander. You want to be front and center, possibly ready for the perfect photo opp. Parkas, scarf and gloves recommended.

Main Street

As a member of the Main Street crowd, you’re probably wearing green from head to toe, hat and matching gloves. You might buy a light up clover necklace from the merchandise cart while contemplating which Downtown shops to pop into after the parade.

Bank Square

You’re not bothered by a large crowd…you’re here for it. You might grab a slice from Mystic Pizza before trekking back to your car up Baptist Hill.

Water street

You’re really in it for the green croissants from Sift and the beer from Friar Tuck’s or Pizzetta. You might miss some of the action when taking a beverage break, but you’re having a blast!
