Cornhole Tournament at Mystic Eats 2017

Head to Mystic Eats for the weekend of September 8-10th and be sure to be there on Sunday for the first annual Mystic Cornhole Tournament in Mystic River Park!

Mystic Cornhole Company has been building custom cornhole sets in the Mystic area since 2014. Each set is built to national cornhole standards for regulation play. Shannon Cavanaugh, who will be running the tournament, took over ownership in June 2016, she has a 30-year background in signage and design and really enjoys designing unique sets of boards for her customers. Mystic Cornhole Company wants you to take pride in your set.

The tournament can accommodate up to 64 teams. Tickets to play are $20 per player. Individuals can pay separately but must compete as part of team. Mystic Cornhole Company will not be matching players up. Tickets can be purchased online or at Friar Tuck’s Tavern, 15 Water Street, Mystic.

“We’re really excited to be adding the Cornhole Tournament this year; it is another family friendly event and this game has gained tons of popularity in this area over the past few years, we are hoping for 64 teams! And we have some great prizes for the winners,” said Amy Munoz, Downtown Mystic Merchants and Mystic Eats chairperson.

In addition to the terrific tournament, participating restaurants include: Abbott’s Lobster In The Rough, Angie’s Pizza, Chapter One, Costello’s Clamshack, Mystic Drawbridge Ice Cream, Del’s Lemonade, Friar Tuck’s Tavern, Harbour House Restaurant, Harp & Hound, The Irons, Karma Kitchen, Milagro, Mystic Depot Roasters, Mystic Oysters, Mystic Pizza, North End Deli, Octagon, Pink Basil, Pizzetta, Ryan’s Pub, Spicer Mansion and Voodoo Grille. Each restaurant will prepare delicious bites from pizza to lobster rolls to ice cream and everything in between! Tickets are available for $1/piece and prices range from 3 tickets to 12 tickets depending on your choice of food! Beverage vendors include Coca Cola, F&F Distributing, Jonathan Edwards Winery, Levine Distributing, Mighty Swell Sparkling Cocktails and The Real McCoy. All Alcoholic beverages will be served at the end of Cottrell Street in the Seaport Marine shed – adjacent to terrific music all weekend long!

Entertainment ranges from reggae to kid’s karaoke! The main stage line up includes a Friday dance party with Rock & Soul Revue followed by Sugar. On Saturday, The CarLeans kick off the day followed by Chris MacKay and the Toneshifters, Copy Copy, The Chris Leigh Band and ending the evening with Green Tea. Sunday is Reggae day, come enjoy Phil & The Line and Sunday Gravy. Side stage entertainment includes Kris Ryan, The Attiks, Darrin Keech, Scott Parry on Saturday; and Sunday is Jacob Graham and Friends. Plus enjoy the Mystified Escape Room, Funaoke, a JPO selfie booth, April’s Balloon Creations, Face Painting, Mystic Cornhole Company tournament, Henna by Hennavana and Mystic Massage – all on site at various times throughout the weekend.
