Doolittle meets new friends at Chapter One

by Lisa Saunders

Most Friday evenings, my husband Jim and I walk down the hill from our home into the historic village of Mystic looking for a sit-down meal where our hound, Doolittle, can rest at our feet. A basset-coonhound mix, Doolittle loves his night out on the town and wagging at all the visitors–so we like to include him when possible. As far as we know, these are the restaurants that will provide table service for us, seats with backs on them (versus a bench), and a bowl of water for Doolittle:

Anthony J’s Bistro

Bravo Bravo

Chapter One

Engine Room

Pizzetta

Tree House at Oyster Club

Voodoo Grill

*Doolittle has dined at these restaurants, but please check with them before bringing your furry friend.

  1. MacDuff will follow Doolittle’s dining tips! In Noank, Carson’s and Ford’s welcome dogs, too!

  2. Doolittle found a few more places he can sit outside with with us when we have dinner in downtown Mystic (in chairs with backs on them for my comfort):
    MBAR – Wine Bar

    Breakfast/Lunch Spots:
    Rise: Breakfast & Brunch Cafe
    Lighthouse Bakery

Restaurants have always given Doolittle a water bowl, but to be sure you have one, you can get a collapsible dog bowl at the Mystic Pet Shop

  3. I really enjoy reading up on Doo and love all the places he is dining at. What a lucky dog!
