Join us for “Thursdays Under the Stars” where you can experience all that our Planetarium has to offer! Each of our Thursday night programs this fall will have a unique theme, and that theme will be woven into all of the night’s elements. Each night will feature the following activities:
– a 30-minute full dome movie projected onto the Planetarium dome. We have secured a collection of award-winning short films, and each one will have its Mystic Seaport Museum premiere on a Thursday night!
– a 30-minute live show about the current night’s sky.
– our young visitors will be invited to collect a take-home craft activity (a different one each week to coincide with the night’s theme)
– weather permitting, the night will conclude with an outdoor observing session using the Planetarium’s telescope.

These are five separate programs that will happen on Thursday nights, and each program will run from 7:30-9:00 PM. Here are the different themes for the five nights:

October 20: “The SUN, our Power Plant”
November 3: “The MOON, our Next door Neighbor”
November 17: “The EARTH, our Very Special Home”
December 1: “The PLANETS, our Solar System Colleagues”
December 17: “COMETS and METEORS, the Wild Cards”
