The Art of Susan Hurley
April 16 @ 7:00 pm - 10:00 pmFree
Susan Hurley (1957–2016) was a regional icon, a cause célèbre well known throughout the area, particularly in the art and music worlds.
Her legendary cedar-shingled houseboat, a Mystic landmark, floated in her slip on the Mystic River across from the Daniel Packer Inne for 27 years, and was host to countless parties, events, and even entire crews of foreign sailing ships. Susan was a true Renaissance woman: artist, writer, award-winning photographer, chef, events planner and music promoter, television producer, sailor, eclectic interior decorator, amateur standup comedian, graphic and costume designer, aspiring inventor, rescue animal advocate, and instigator of inspired mischief.
A truly unique individual, intelligent and stubbornly independent, with a mischievous and wacky sense of humor and a love of the absurd.
