Quilting 101: Patchwork
March 9 @ 9:00 am - 11:00 am
Quilting 101- Patchwork session:
This is the classic type of quilt and is a great place to begin.
Students will learn how-
to choose fabrics
to use quilting rulers and a rotary cutter
to assemble a quilt block using straight seams (and a trick for making quick triangle edges)
to iron well so the pieces “nest” together.
Students will make the same block as many times as they like. Three blocks would make a table runner, 9 blocks would be a throw, 12 blocks would be a baby or lap quilt.
If students don’t finish in the first week, or even if they do, an optional second session the following Saturday, 9-11am, teacher’s guidance is available for more time to work in the studio with the guidance of the teacher( $24).
NOTE:
* No sewing skills or previous experience is needed. This an excellent class for beginners or those who want a refresher.
*All materials are included in this class.
