Outdoor Concert at the Library: US Coast Guard Clarinet Quartet

FreeJoin the Mystic & Noank Library for an outdoor concert featuring members of the clarinet section of the U.S. Coast Guard Band. The United States Coast Guard Clarinet Quartet has regularly performed recitals and masterclasses for audiences across the nation, including at such venues as Carnegie Hall, conferences held by the International Clarinet Association, and at universities throughout New England. The Quartet’s members include Chief Musician (MUC) Chantal Hovendick, Musician First Class (MU1) Christopher Howard, MU1 Steven Zhang, and MU1 Robert Durie. The group exhibits many musical styles including light classical and jazz transcriptions and will present a program entitled “Sounds of America” which focuses on American composers and themes including works by Gershwin, Copland, and “The American String Quartet” by Antonin Dvorak arranged for clarinets. Registration is not required to attend this program. Social distance guidelines will be in place for everyone’s safety.
