Mystic Contra Dance “The Pie Dance”

TIME: Dance 7:30-11:00pm 
● WHERE: Groton Center’s Community meeting/banquet hall @ 102 Newtown Road, Groton, CT 
● Fall is upon us and we are excited about the upcoming 2022-2023 season.
● CALLER: Don Heinold. Don is well known as a contra dance caller and a waltz instructor in the greater RI, Central MA, Central & Eastern CT, and Southern NH areas for over 12 years.
● LIVE MUSIC: “Captain Fiddle Band”. They are Ryan Thomson (fiddle), Damaris Rohsenow (keyboards) & Paul Mangion (bass). This ensemble always has a fiddle in it and can range in size from trio to 6 piece. Musical styles can range from Appalachian, Bluegrass, Celtic, French Canadian, New England, Country, Cajun, and more.
● HOMEMADE PIE! This month we offer homemade apple and berry pies slices. These delicious pies are offered at the break for $3/slice help support the band and caller.
● COVID precautions: Things keep changing and we keep following CDC Guidelines!
> We still require sign-in and contact information for notification just in case of a case of Covid which has been very rare with us since 07/2021.
> Vaccinations are encouraged and recommended but not required.
> Masks are highly encouraged and recommended but not required.
● ADMISSION: $10 adults, $7 students. & Donations gratefully accepted!
● CLOTHING & FOOTWEAR: Clothing is casual, layers are best for this invigorating exercise. Please wear non-street shoes that move easily on the floor (rubber soled sneaker are discouraged but some do wear them even though it makes dancing a bit harder).
● PARKING: Plenty of parking in the large parking area next to the building!
