Just Gender: Creating Safe Spaces Aboard Tall Ships

Join us during Transgender Awareness Week for a virtual program on Nov. 16 with Sound Experience, a Washington youth education organization serving communities and ports throughout the Puget Sound and the Salish Sea.

Sound Experience staff will discuss how beginning in 2015, the organization began a journey involving gender that reflects the culture of respect for all program participants and ensures the emotional and physical safety of participants regardless of gender identity. Staff will share firsthand how they worked to address the challenges and embrace the joy of gender inclusion for all at Sound Experience and on board the schooner Adventuress.
