Family Sewing Class – Make a Backpack 8/19
08/19/2023 @ 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm
New Pilot Family Class Program at Spark!
This simple project is a good introduction to sewing. We will be using a sewing machine and a serger to create a lined drawstring backpack.
It is designed for one adult and one or two children – ages 7 and up. Everyone participating in the class will be making a backpack of their own, even the grownups!
Material to bring:
PER STUDENT: You will need two different lightweight cotton fabrics, 3/4 of a yard each. One is the outside; one is the lining. You will also need 4 yards of cord for the drawstring. The best fabric is a lightweight quilting cotton – the new ‘Affordable Fabrics’ now called “Americana Fabrics” is open in Waterford on Great Neck Rd, and they have cording as well as tons of prints in the fabric you need.
