Downtown Business Spotlight: Shutters & Sails Real Estate

Shutters & Sails is a boutique real estate firm that has represented buyers, sellers, and renters on both Fishers Island and the Connecticut shoreline for more than ten years. The Mystic office is located on the first floor of the Downtown Mystic Marina building with spectacular views of the Mystic River.

Shutters & Sails strives to deliver, “a boutique experience where exceptional service is our standard.” I believe that this statement expresses how they care for the client and their vow to do their absolute best to satisfy the client’s needs. If you do not have time to stop by their office I recommend checking out their website for up-to-date listings and agent information.

When I visited Shutters & Sails I sat down with the Business Manager, Abbie Finan. She is originally from Fishers Island, NY where the Shutters & Sails flagship office is located. Abbie’s degree in Business Administration from High Point University and life-long connection to real estate has prepared her for this vigorous and rewarding role. The most important business philosophy that she incorporates her daily work is: “If you treat people well, it will come back to you.”

If you are looking to buy, sell, rent or lease I recommend that you contact Shutters & Sails where you will work with exceptional agents who will treat you like family.

About the Reporter:
Emily Gardiner has lived in Mystic for 16 years and is a junior at Eastern Connecticut State University. An avid traveller, Emily will be studying abroad in Florence this Fall. However, Mystic is held dear to her heart because of the friendly community and people. “Usually when I tell people I am from here, they ask me if that’s where the Mystic Aquarium and the Seaport are. I look at them and say ‘Yes, and I am only a mile away from both!'” Emily’s other passions include tennis and animals. “After college I don’t know where life is going to take me but I hope to come back to Mystic to raise my family.”
