Yetter Christmas Tree Farm

If you’ve ever visited Yetter Farm in late November (through the week before Christmas) then you know what a magical little piece of the Mystic pie it truly is. Cars line up along the back country road, and the place is abuzz with folks of all ages. Everyone’s got their own tree finding technique, some scout carefully while others (like our family) run wild, aisle after aisle in pursuit of that perfect tree.

There are nine evergreen varieties to choose from and 16 acres to roam. There’s something special about picking out a Mystic grown tree while supporting a local farming family.

Members of staff patrol on four wheelers trailing freshly cut + tagged trees back to the front of the property where they can be baled and loaded into/onto your vehicle.

The farm is run by Lee Umrysz and family. The Umrysz’ have been farming evergreens at this location since the early 1970’s when their very first trees were planted. The Christmas tree farm opened to the public in 1974.

Yetter offers pre-cut trees (for those who opt for a fresh local tree in a jiffy).

Tree Varieties: Balsam Fir; Douglas Fir; Fraser Fir; Blue Spruce; White Spruce, White Pine; Concolor Fir; Canaan Fir; Cork-Bark Fir.

Holiday Gift Shop: wreaths, sprays, decorations, ornaments, handmade small gifts and crafts.

TIPS:

If you have a specific type of tree in mind, be sure to ask for the general location on the grounds to find them.

Bring a camera, a travel mug, bundle up and stay for a while!

Directions:

From Route 184 (Gold Star Highway) take Flanders Road south,  and then take a left onto Yetter Road.

From Route 1, take Flanders Road north, then right onto Yetter Road.
