DESCRIPTION:The Friends of the Mystic & Noank Library and the Groton Public Library Circle of Friends will be holding the 17th Annual Edible Books Festival on Saturday\, March 28 at 1 pm at the Groton Public Library. Entry forms are available from either library but should be turned in by March 23. Enter on your own\, as a family \, or as a group for this family friendly event. An edible book is anything related to a book\, or a character in a book – it simply needs to taste good and be in good taste. \nFor more information please check either library website or email friends@mysticnoanklibrary.org or gpl.circleoffriends@gmail.com. The Groton Public Library is located at 52 Newtown Rd\, Groton CT. The event begins at one and we encourage you to be on time as we eat the entries after admiring them. All are welcome to attend.

This event – the first of its kind – will feature authors representing all nine of the volumes of Groton-Mystic history available from Arcadia Publishing and The History Press. \nThe panel contains a distinguished list of local history luminaries\, including three college professors\, the heads of two historical societies\, a former mayor\, a town historian\, a television show host\, and the head of one of the best ghost tours in the area. Members of the panel have also served in the United States Armed Forces and attended such distinguished Ivy League institutions as the University of Pennsylvania\, Cornell University\, and Yale University. \nThe event will start at noon. Each panel member will be open to questions from the public\, and autographed copies of each volume will be available for public purchase. \nsee full press release with author details
