The GeoHistorian Project: Self-Guided Tour
This is a really cool learning experience for kids (and adults) by kids. Students from Mystic Middle School, Stonington High School, and Home Scholars of Mystic/Stonington collaborated with the Mystic River Historical Society to produce videos about 12 sites in Mystic, all accessible by QR codes placed at those locations throughout town.
Take a stroll through downtown with your smartphone/tablet in search of GEO decals. The decals have QR codes that, when scanned, reveal a short, historical video about that location. This is a very fun, self-guided tour enjoyed by all ages!
