Members will be certified on the chop saw and the router table as part of this class. \nClass will be held at Spark Makerspace 225 State Street\, New London CT\, Wednesday February 5th 6-8 PM and Saturday February 8th 10 AM – 2:30 PM with a 30 min. break for lunch. \nClass includes all material needed for the project. Students must be a minimum of 18 years old to take the class. \n$88 for Spark members; $106 for non-members

DESCRIPTION:Maria Trumpler\, PhD\, Senior Lecturer in Women’s\, Gender and Sexuality \nMaria earned her PhD in History of Science and Medicine from Yale in 1992\, and has become fascinated with women’s traditional knowledge that is “science-like” in that it has a large empirical bases as well as a theoretical structure. She found an artisanal cheese company in Vermont from 2005-2007. Currently she teaches Yale students courses on “Food\, Identity and Desire” and “History of Sexuality.” This talk originated as a keynote at the 2018 Grain Gathering at the Bread Lab at Washington State University.
