DESCRIPTION:A New England holiday tradition\, Lantern Light Tours is a 70-minute progressive play that is set on Christmas Eve in 1876. Featuring actors from Connecticut and neighboring states\, the cast weaves a heart-warming holiday story in the setting of the historic buildings and vessels of the Museum. \nThe Lantern Light Tour plot is changed every year and the writing and production planning begins early in the spring. For 2015\, the story focusses on the Sawyer family\, a young couple expecting their first child who come to Mystic and are not able to find lodging for the night. There is a surprise inheritance\, a villainous Mr. King\, a rousing tavern dance\, and a visit to Mr. and Mrs. Nicholas in their busy toy shop. \n“While not a direct telling of the Nativity\, we adapted many details of the story to our setting in amusing and clever ways that we think the audience will enjoy\,” said Denise Kegler\, the program manager for Lantern Light Tours. \nVisitors join a group of 16 to tour the Museum’s 19th-century village\, stopping at designated points to take in the next chapter of the story. Performances are November 27\, 28 and December 4\, 5\, 11\, 12\, 13\, 18\, 19\, 20. Tours begin at 5 p.m. and leave every 15 minutes. \nTickets can be purchased online at  www.mysticseaport.org/lanternlighttours\, or by calling 860.572.5331. Tickets are $32 for adults ($26 for Mystic Seaport members) and $25 for children ages 5-17 ($19 for youth members). Lantern Light Tours are not recommended for children under the age of 4.

Bring the whole family for a FREE ride around the Village. \nDon’t forget – Santa will be on the Village Green to have his photo taken with your pet(s) from 1-4pm. This is your opportunity to get that special photo of the most important member of the family! \nCalling children age 9 and under only…Santa’s Workshop will be open from Noon to 4pm in the Meeting House for some special shopping just for you. Santa’s elf\, Gumdrop\, will be there to help you shop in a store designed just for you. It’s a special opportunity for youngsters to shop for their favorite folks. All items are under $10. \nThroughout the Village there will be FREE entertainment all afternoon. The ever popular stilt walkers and fire jugglers will delight young and old\, the Ladies of the Rolling Pin will have children dancing around the duck pond and choirs from Stonington\, Mystic and Montville will be leading the caroling. As always the Festive Brass will be playing in the Gazebo and parading around the village.

DESCRIPTION:Travel to the Bruce Museum in Greenwich\, CT on Thursday\, December 10\, 8am – 8pm\, for a guided tour of the “Charles Harold Davis\, Mystic Impressionist” exhibition. $65 Members / $75 Public (includes bus travel\, museum admission\, tour. Lunch is approximately $25 additional.) Charles Davis was responsible for the artists’ colony which made its home in Mystic and eventually founded Mystic Arts Center. MAC has works from its permanent collection on view in this exhibition. After enjoying Davis’ images of home\, enjoy a deliciously organic lunch at nearby Harvest Wine Bar and Restaurant. On your way back to MAC\, enjoy another taste of art at Yale University Art Gallery in New Haven. After a quick coffee and snack break across the street at Atticus Coffee\, we will board the buses and return to Mystic at approximately 8pm. Advanced reservations are required by October 30.
