What is Klezmer music? Remember the wedding dances in Fiddler on the Roof? The clarinet solos of Benny Goodman? It’s a joyful music that makes you want to take hands in a circle and dance\, but it can make you nostalgic for the vanished world of Eastern Europe and the Jazz Age of New York in the 1920s. Led by Roz Etra\, the repertoire includes “Jewish Jazz” arrangements of traditional tunes from the Old Country\, Yiddish Theater songs from the Lower East Side in the 1930s and Israeli dance tunes.
