Enjoy festive lighting displays\, live music\, horse and carriage rides\, fire pits\, a visit from St. Nicholas\, and more including holiday themed stories\, crafts\, and games! \nPremiering this year\, Mystic Seaport Museum will be exploring the time-honored tradition of celebrating the holidays with ghost stories! Experience our original theatrical event “Yuletide Spirits” and learn how ghost stories like “A Christmas Carol” became a staple of winter festivities\, and why they’re now just a spectre of the past. Each night will feature the following activities:\n– a 30-minute full dome movie projected onto the Planetarium dome. We have secured a collection of award-winning short films\, and each one will have its Mystic Seaport Museum premiere on a Thursday night!\n– a 30-minute live show about the current night’s sky.\n– our young visitors will be invited to collect a take-home craft activity (a different one each week to coincide with the night’s theme)\n– weather permitting\, the night will conclude with an outdoor observing session using the Planetarium’s telescope. \nThese are five separate programs that will happen on Thursday nights\, and each program will run from 7:30-9:00 PM. These live shows will be held at 12pm and 2pm and are free to visitors.

SUMMARY:Poetry from the Heart
DESCRIPTION:This monthly poetry writing group led by Sarah Page will culminate in an online publication of poetry in April for National Poetry Month. Each group session will begin with a sharing circle to connect with how we’re feeling\, followed by a brief meditation and light yoga stretches before we dive into writing with prompts. Sarah is a local poet who grew up in Mystic and attended St. Bernard High School. She published Out of Our poetry magazine when she lived in San Francisco\, CA. Sarah is also a certified yoga teacher at Mystic Yoga Shala and a practitioner of heartfulness meditation.
