DESCRIPTION:The 19th Annual Mystic Holiday Lighted Boat Parade will take place on the Saturday after Thanksgiving. \nFollowing Santa arriving by tugboat and the lighting of the Mystic River Park Christmas tree\, spectators flood both sides of the Mystic River to see the decorated and decked out boats pass by. \nDecorated vessels will parade down the Mystic River just after 6pm and return to the Mystic River Park\, where spectators and judges will be gathered. Boats will be judged on creativity and team spirit. There will be prizes for ‘Most Charismatic Crew’\, ‘Innovative Vessel’\, ‘Best Dressed Vessel’\, ‘Most Holiday Spirit’ and ‘Miss Mystic Vessel of Grandeur’.

DESCRIPTION:Thanksgiving dinner is done and the whole family is together. Why not spend some time outdoors on our museum grounds? We will have a variety of outdoor and indoor activities the whole family can enjoy. Try your hand at a 19th-century lawn game\, make a seasonally themed craft\, explore the Museum grounds with a scavenger hunt activity\, and learn about how Thanksgiving and the fall harvest were celebrated in the 19th-century. \nOn Saturday\, November 26th come see Steve Elci & Friends at 1:00 PM on our performance stage. \nSteve Elci coined the term “edutainment” to best describe his work. A combination of entertaining lyrics and notes\, mixed with an educational lesson\, Steve Elci & Friends music is sure to get kids excited. Edutainment is “learning through music\,” compelling for children of all ages and children at heart. Steve performs original songs and creates unique dance steps that light up the stage. \nAll activities included with museum admission.

We have secured a collection of award-winning short films\, and each one will have its Mystic Seaport Museum premiere on a Thursday night!\n– a 30-minute live show about the current night’s sky.\n– our young visitors will be invited to collect a take-home craft activity (a different one each week to coincide with the night’s theme)\n– weather permitting\, the night will conclude with an outdoor observing session using the Planetarium’s telescope. \nThese are five separate programs that will happen on Thursday nights\, and each program will run from 7:30-9:00 PM.
