SUMMARY:Liv Constantine (The Stranger in the Mirror) Virtual Author Talk and Q&A with Cate Holahan
DESCRIPTION:Bank Square Books and Savoy Bookshop & Café present an author talk and Q&A with Liv Constantine for the release of the new book The Stranger in the Mirror. Lynne Constantine and Valerie Constantine will be in conversation with Cate Holahan. \nThis event is free\, but registration is required. Registration details are at the bottom of this page. \nAbout the Book\nA diabolically twisty\, psychologically unsettling novel about a woman with no recollection of her past from the authors of the Reese Witherspoon Book Club pick The Last Mrs. Parrish and The Wife Stalker. \n“Liv Constantine plants her flag squarely in land staked out by the likes of Lisa Gardner and Karin Slaughter.”—Providence Journal \nAddison’s about to get married\, but she’s not looking forward to the big day. It’s not her fiancé; he’s a wonderful man. It’s because Addison doesn’t know who she really is. A few years ago\, a kind driver found her bleeding next to a New Jersey highway and rescued her. While her physical wounds healed\, Addison’s memory never returned. She doesn’t know her real name. Or how she ended up injured on the side of a road. Or why she can’t shake the notion that she may have done something very\, very bad . . . \nIn a posh home in the Boston suburbs\, Julian tries to figure out what happened to his loving\, caring wife\, Cassandra\, who disappeared without a trace two years ago. She would never have left him and their seven-year-old daughter Valentina of her own free will—or would she? \nAs these two lives intersect\, The Stranger in the Mirror hooks readers with riveting drama\, told with Liv Constantine’s hallmark blend of glamour\, tense psychological thrills\, and jaw-dropping twists. \nAbout Liv Constantine\nLiv Constantine is the pen name of sisters Lynne Constantine and Valerie Constantine. SUMMARY:Virtual Book Talk: Hannah McKinnon (Message in the Sand) Author Talk and Q&A
DESCRIPTION:Bank Square Books and Savoy Bookshop & Café present an author talk and Q&A with Hannah McKinnon for the release of the new book Message in the Sand.\nThis event is free\, but registration is required. Registration details are at the bottom of this page. \nAbout the Book\nAn emotional and unforgettable tale of a small town irrevocably affected by an unforeseen and shocking event—from the author of the “charming gem of a novel” (Elin Hilderbrand\, #1 New York Times bestselling author) Mystic Summer. \nWendell Combs is as local as they come. Born and raised in the small town of Saybrook\, Connecticut\, his venture into the larger world was met with heartbreak. Now\, middle-aged and a confirmed bachelor\, he seeks solitude from his tour of duty as a soldier back in his hometown\, working as head caretaker for wealthy Alan Lancaster’s forty-acre estate\, White Pines\, a place he has come to love for its beauty\, peace\, and quiet. \nAlan’s eldest daughter\, fifteen-year-old Julia\, also loves White Pines\, but for very different reasons. She and her little sister spend their days riding horses\, swimming in the lake\, and painting landscapes inspired by the property they adore. While her parents prepare to host their annual summer gala fundraiser\, Julia’s eyes are set to the simpler joys of summer: she’s fallen in love with the boy-next-door and longs for their next encounter. \nBut as the last guests leave on that magical summer night\, a tragedy no one could have predicted suddenly occurs\, shaking the entire town to its core. Wendell and Julia now face an uncertain future. At the height of their grief\, two very different women return to Saybrook: Ginny Feldman\, Wendell’s first love\, who cannot stay away any longer\, and Candace Lancaster\, Julia’s estranged aunt who wants nothing to do with the town or the family estate she escaped decades earlier. Now\, the only familiar things Julia has to cling to are Wendell and White Pines\, but it looks like she’s about to lose both… \nWith Hannah McKinnon’s “sharp and evocative” (Kirkus Reviews) prose\, this stirring and affecting tale explores the connection between people and place and what\, ultimately\, makes up the fabric of a family. \nAbout Hannah McKinnon\nHannah Roberts McKinnon is the award winning author of six women’s fiction and beach read novels with Simon and Schuster. Her titles include Message in the Sand\, The View From Here\, Sailing Lessons\, The Summer House\, Mystic Summer\, and The Lake Season. She previously published two YA novels\, Franny Parker and The Properties of Water\, with FSG/MacMillan. \nHannah lives in Fairfield County\, CT with her family. When not spending time with family and friends or writing in her home office she can be found in her backyard chasing chickens\, wrangling rescue dogs\, or at the lake. \nVisit her author website at www.hannahmckinnon.com\, on Instagram at @hannahmckinnonwrites and on Twitter at @hannahmckinnon

SUMMARY:VIRTUAL: Gary Grossman & Ed Fuller (Red Deception) Author Talk and Q&A
DESCRIPTION:Bank Square Books and Savoy Bookshop & Café present an author talk and Q&A with Gary Grossman and Ed Fuller for their new book Red Deception. \nThis event is free\, but registration is required. Registration details are at the bottom of this page. \nAbout the Book\nIntelligence experts and thriller authors concur: Red Deception is “A page-turner by authors who might as well sit on the National Security Council.” When terrorists bomb bridges across the country and threaten the Hoover Dam\, the vulnerability of America’s infrastructure becomes a matter of national security. But Dan Reilly\, a former Army intelligence officer\, predicted the attacks in a secret State Department report written years earlier—a virtual blueprint for disaster\, somehow leaked and now in the hands of foreign operatives. With Washington distracted by domestic crises\, Russian President Nicolai Gorshkov sends troops to the borders of Ukraine and Latvia\, ready to reclaim what he feels is Russia’s rightful territory. Tensions in Europe threaten to boil over as a besieged American president balances multiple crises that threaten to upend the geopolitical order. With the US at the mercy of an egomaniacal leader\, and reporters and covert agents on his tail\, Reilly may be the one man who can connect the dots before an even bigger catastrophe unfolds. Red Deception is the second book in the Red Hotel series. \nAbout the Authors\nGary Grossman’s first novel\, Executive Actions\, propelled him into the world of geopolitical thrillers. Executive Treason\, Executive Command\, and Executive Force further tapped Grossman’s experience as a journalist\, newspaper columnist\, documentary television producer\, reporter\, and media historian. In addition to the bestselling Executive series\, Grossman wrote the international award-winning Old Earth\, a geological thriller that spans all of time. With Red Hotel and Red Deception\, his collaborations with Ed Fuller\, Grossman entered a new realm of globe-hopping thriller writing. Ed Fuller is a hospitality industry leader\, educator\, and bestselling author. He is president of Irvine\, California-based Laguna Strategic Advisors\, a global consortium that provides business consulting services to corporations and governments. Fuller is also director of the FBI National Academy Associates (FBINAA). The plots for Red Hotel and Red Deception draw heavily on his experience and exploits. \nRegister

Prompts will gently guide you to excavate your past\, and provide the tools to craft your story into something meaningful for others to read. Read more about Regina Bartlett in her bio\, and her publications and other speaking engagements on her website. \nGet Published with a Small Press | Leslie M Browning\nMonday\, August 2 from 7:00 – 8:30 PM \nYou’ve joined in our local authors writing workshop series\, you’ve started some stories of your own\, and now the question arises… How do I get published?
