DESCRIPTION:Thanksgiving dinner is done and the whole family is together. Why not spend some time outdoors on our museum grounds? We will have a variety of outdoor and indoor activities the whole family can enjoy. Try your hand at a 19th-century lawn game\, make a seasonally themed craft\, explore the Museum grounds with a scavenger hunt activity\, and learn about how Thanksgiving and the fall harvest were celebrated in the 19th-century. \nOn Saturday\, November 26th come see Steve Elci & Friends at 1:00 PM on our performance stage. \nSteve Elci coined the term “edutainment” to best describe his work. A combination of entertaining lyrics and notes\, mixed with an educational lesson\, Steve Elci & Friends music is sure to get kids excited. Edutainment is “learning through music\,” compelling for children of all ages and children at heart. Steve performs original songs and creates unique dance steps that light up the stage. \nAll activities included with museum admission.

Billy has been calling dances for over thirty years\, starting out in New Haven\, Connecticut with the contra dance series that has been a fixture of the folk music and dance scene since 1976. In addition to contra dances in and around the northeast\, he has called at various dance camps regionally and nationally.\n● LIVE MUSIC: “Chimney Swift”: A.Z. SUMMARY:Lighted Boat Parade 2022
DESCRIPTION:The 19th Annual Mystic Holiday Lighted Boat Parade will take place on the Saturday after Thanksgiving. \nFollowing Santa arriving by tugboat and the lighting of the Mystic River Park Christmas tree\, spectators flood both sides of the Mystic River to see the decorated and decked out boats pass by. \nDecorated vessels will parade down the Mystic River just after 6pm and return to the Mystic River Park\, where spectators and judges will be gathered. Boats will be judged on creativity and team spirit. There will be prizes for ‘Most Charismatic Crew’\, ‘Innovative Vessel’\, ‘Best Dressed Vessel’\, ‘Most Holiday Spirit’ and ‘Miss Mystic Vessel of Grandeur’.

We will have a variety of outdoor and indoor activities the whole family can enjoy. Try your hand at a 19th-century lawn game\, make a seasonally themed craft\, explore the Museum grounds with a scavenger hunt activity\, and learn about how Thanksgiving and the fall harvest were celebrated in the 19th-century. \nOn Saturday\, November 26th come see Steve Elci & Friends at 1:00 PM on our performance stage. \nSteve Elci coined the term “edutainment” to best describe his work. A combination of entertaining lyrics and notes\, mixed with an educational lesson\, Steve Elci & Friends music is sure to get kids excited. Edutainment is “learning through music\,” compelling for children of all ages and children at heart. Steve performs original songs and creates unique dance steps that light up the stage. \nAll activities included with museum admission.

DESCRIPTION:It can be said that the personal journey of life is just a collaboration between past and present versions of ourselves. Each and every past choice we have made and experience we share with others presents a new version of ourselves. \nThe concept of this new exhibition\, titled “Abstract Deep” is composed of two series\, “After All.” and “Growing up” – a collaboration of words and artworks Johanna Champlin wrote and recently finished. Her art represents a permanent record of an impermanent her. \nFeel a sense of rebirth and renaissance in this new exhibition\, “Abstract Deep\,” a solo exhibition by Connecticut-based artist\, Johanna Champlin. Who knows\, maybe a new version of yourself will emerge out of this exhibition? \nOpening reception will be on Friday\, November 18th from 7 PM – 10 PM. The exhibit will be on display until Friday\, December 23rd.
