DESCRIPTION:Join us for The Sixth Annual Stonington Borough Art Walk on Saturday\, September 14th! The Art Walk is an annual event held in mid-September hosted by the Stonington Borough Merchants Association. The one-day fair features the best of Southeastern Connecticut’s and Southern Rhode Island’s art scene\, acoustic musical performances\, the Borough’s shops\, cultural assets\, restaurants\, and food vendors. The event is free to the public and attracts visitors from across New England and beyond. \nThe event has quickly become known as a mecca for great local art and art-loving patrons. The goal is quality over quantity — a well-curated assortment of less than 100 painters\, illustrators\, watercolorists\, sculptors\, potters\, makers\, and photographers — lining Water Street with tents and tables\, stretching all the way down to Cannon Square. \nThere are many art-related activities as well: There’s a roving performance artist\, tours and exhibits at The Captain Palmer House\, The Lighthouse Museum\, The James Merrill House\, La Grua Center\, The Velvet Mill\, and The Stonington Free Library (which also provides free activities for the kids)\, and a delightful scavenger hunt\, The Glaze Vase Project\, thanks to local potter and Art Walk participant\, Lyndsay Meiklem Dean of Glaze Handmade. Lyndsay hides tiny vases throughout the Borough for seekers to find. SUMMARY:Blue Monday Concert Series: Glaucoma Suspect
DESCRIPTION:Blue Monday Concerts return to Mystic River Park in 2024 for three free concerts on July 1st\, July 8th and July 15th from 6:00PM to 8:00PM. The concert series is a fundraiser for the Stonington Education Fund and the Pawcatuck Neighborhood Center. \nGlaucoma Suspect\nJason Jarvis – Vocals/Percussion\nJamie Conroy –Guitar\nSteve Provost – Keys/Vocals\nRyan Chapman –Drums\nDan Corbett –Bass\nMatt Nemeth –Saxophone\nTeri Reis – Vocals\nTim Zeppieri –Percussion \nThis will be the 18th year for the series. In 2023 the free concerts raised $12\,700 from concert sponsorships and individual donations. The funds were split between the Pawcatuck Neighborhood Center (food bank) and the Stonington Education Fund to support music programs in Stonington’s public schools. DESCRIPTION:Blue Monday Concerts return to Mystic River Park in 2024 for three free concerts on July 1st\, July 8th and July 15th from 6:00PM to 8:00PM. The concert series is a fundraiser for the Stonington Education Fund and the Pawcatuck Neighborhood Center. \nThe Toneshifters\nChris Mackay – Lead Vocals\, Percussion and Washboard\nTom “The Suit” Forst – Guitar/Vocals\nBen Perry – Bass/Vocals\nTim Zeppieri- Drums\nSue MacKay – Accordion/Vocals \nThis will be the 18th year for the series. In 2023 the free concerts raised $12\,700 from concert sponsorships and individual donations. The funds were split between the Pawcatuck Neighborhood Center (food bank) and the Stonington Education Fund to support music programs in Stonington’s public schools.
