DESCRIPTION:On Saturday\, October 3\, at 1 PM\, James Benn\, author of the popular Billy Boyle\, World War II mystery series\, will lead a discussion of his book\, Freegift\, at Bill Memorial Library. The book is a Revolutionary War tale set in southeastern Connecticut. It follows the formerly enslaved Freegift Cooper\, who discovers his father is the notorious traitor\, Benedict Arnold. Copies of the book are available for checkout at the three Groton libraries\, and books will be available for purchase and signing at the event.\nThis program is free\, but attendance is limited and registration is required. The library turned 135 years old in 2025.
