Students are immersed in hands-on activities working with our resident and rehabilitating wildlife. DESCRIPTION:Bill Memorial Library will host Alison Woods and Joseph St. Rock of the Estate and Tax Planning Council of Eastern Connecticut for a program on the basics of estate planning. Woods and St. Rock will discuss beneficiary designations\, wills\, powers of attorney and trusts\, among other topics. She currently serves as a fundraising consultant with the Lyman Allyn Art Museum and the Mystic & Noank Library. \nJoseph St. Rock is a partner at Hoops & Associates\, LLC\, in Groton. He earned his law degree from Quinnipiac University School of Law and was admitted to the Connecticut Bar in 2011. He focuses his practice on probate law\, including decedent’s estates and conservatorships\, and estate planning. He also handles all types of real estate closings and represents landlords in eviction and housing matters. \nThe Bill Memorial Library is located at 240 Monument Street in the City of Groton\, near the Groton Monument and Fort Griswold. The library turned 135 years old in 2025. SUMMARY:Environmental Afternoons
DESCRIPTION:Join DPNC on Tuesdays\, 1:30 – 4:30 pm\, for our science-based curriculum which introduces students to the wonders of the natural world! New topics are covered each week through hands-on activities\, meeting live animals\, games and time for nature play and socialization. Classes have a minimum of 4 students and a maximum of 14. There are two teachers per age group. Please bring a snack and water bottle to each class. Be prepared to go outside in all weather conditions! Sign-ups are by class. Sign up for one\, some or all!\nSign up is by the following age groups:\nExplorers (ages 4-5)\nScientists (ages 6-8)\nAdventurers (ages 9-12)\nAnimal Curators (ages 13-15)*\n*Please note that our Animal Curator Program does not follow the same curriculum as above. Students are immersed in hands-on activities working with our resident and rehabilitating wildlife. Activities include cleaning and setting up tanks\, providing enrichment activities for wildlife and learning more about the care of wild and resident animals. Students alternate animal care tasks with hikes\, nature journaling and other group activities at DPNC. This program is limited to 6 students and has one instructor.
