Snediker\, Director of Henry B. duPont Preservation Shipyard at Mystic Seaport will be the celebrity speaker at the Ninth Annual Sea-Legs Celebrity Night\, to be held at La Grua Center\, Stonington\, on April 28\, 2016\, starting at 6:30. \nSea-Legs\, Inc. [www.sea-legs.org] offers boating experience to boys and girls who\, because of their circumstances\, may not have access to the water. A Sea-Legs sloop first sailed into The Thames River in 1999 and the program is now based in New London. More than a thousand children have found their sea-legs aboard such boats under the command of Captain Richard Lathrop\, founder and CEO. Advanced sailors in the program stay active year round through an apprentice program where they earn wages while learning to become shipwrights. Sea-Legs\, Inc. is a non-profit organization under section 501(c)3 of the tax code. \nIn support of Sea-Leg\, Mr. Snediker\, who held a lead role in building the Amistad and restoring the Charles W. Morgan\, will discuss these accomplishments and answer questions on a variety of maritime matters. He brings vast experience in historic preservation at both Mystic Seaport and the Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum\, St Michael’s Maryland. DESCRIPTION:The Super Hero Bar Crawl is a fundraiser to support Allison Perrine and Gino Mammolito as they raise money for young adults affected by cancer. Allison and Gino are both embarking on an epic journey for the summer of 2016. They both have signed up to spend their summer biking/running from coast to coast to raise money and awareness for young adults affected by cancer. They are doing this through 4K for Cancer\, a non-profit in partnership with the Ulman Cancer Fund For Young Adults.
