Yetter Christmas Tree Farm
If you’ve ever visited Yetter Farm in late November (through Christmas Eve-ish) then you know what a magical little piece of the Mystic pie it truly is (like what we did with that?). Cars line up along back country road, and the place is a buzz with folks of all ages…from the tiniest of tots all bundled in blankets, young couples in love, to the grandest of grandparents. You might notice that everyone’s got their own technique, some peruse patiently while others explore with a bit of a pep in their step, aisle after aisle in pursuit of that perfect tree. There are nine beautiful evergreen varieties to choose from and there are acres and acres to roam. There’s something special about picking out your own tree in this setting and of course supporting local farmers!
The farm is run by Lee Umrysz and family. The Umrysz’ have been farming evergreens at this location since the early 1970’s when their very first trees were planted. The Christmas tree farm opened to the public in blank.
Yetter’s offers tree cutting, tree wrapping, tree pick-up, and pre cut trees (for those who opt for a fresh local tree in a jiffy). The staff is hard working and welcoming.
Tree Varieties: Balsam Fir; Douglas Fir; Fraser Fir; Blue Spruce; White Spruce, White Pine; Concolor Fir; Canaan Fir; Cork-Bark Fir.
Holiday Gift Shop: wreaths, sprays, decorations, ornaments, handmade small gifts and crafts.
If you have a specific type of tree in mind, be sure to ask for the general location on the grounds to find them.
Bring a camera, a travel mug, bundle up and stay for a while!
