Mystic Milers Meets for Weekly Running Workouts

The Mystic Milers is a welcoming training group that gets together weekly on Thursdays for running workouts on River Road. They work as a team to train and become stronge,r more informed runners with future races in mind. All abilities are welcome and encouraged to join!

Kelsey Seddon started the program to bring the community together and get people out and moving. She generally leads the stretches and works with the group to help them meet their goals. Most are training for a 5k!

Runners run at their own pace to tackle anywhere between 1-5 miles in an out and back training course on River Road. Nightly workouts start with a group stretch and warm up. Sprint workouts, hill workouts, and circuit training will also be an option in the future for those interested. Additional support is always an option for beginner runners.

Local Perks for Joining

Many local establishments are jumping on board to promote the health and big heart that this team stands for. The Harp & Hound provides a free beer or wine to each participant after the workout. Mystic Drawbridge Ice Cream Shop is encouraging runners to run the extra half mile to their shop after practice for a free ice cream voucher, and Sift Bakery will be providing incentives for weekend workouts in the future. The Mystic Luxury Cinemas is also providing free movie passes for people who make workouts regularly.

Mystic Milers meets Thursday nights (6pm in summer, 5:30pm as days get shorter, and just occasionally in fall and winter…check with them for current schedule) outside The Harp & Hound on Pearl Street.
