  1. Food and service was very good. The clam strips were excellent. Very disappointed with the lobster roll for $14.95. Way to small for the price.

  2. Stopped at the Cove for lunch Friday Oct 3, 2014 , looked really nice from the outside, inside not too good. dingy with maybe 6 tables , other tables stored against the wall carpet filthy, exposed light sockets in the wall(picture upon request} Stayed for lunch service was brutal as one waitress who only spoke “I’m sorry ‘ for the slow service food was ok clam w/ bellies but extra $3.00 for platter which was only fries extra was a ripoff will never visit this restaurant again next visit to area will be Abbott’s or Costello’s for sure

  3. The Cove was our favorite no frills comfort food place. Andrew gave excellent fresh seafood meals. Knew he had sold and watched with baited (pun intended) breath for its reopening. Had 2 meals with fine service and good whole bellys and oysters then nothing. What’s happened??

  4. We are Mystic residents, and decided to give this place a try for the first time last night and our experience was awful, although the food was fine. I have to reiterate the above poster’s comment that the waitstaff’s vocabulary was limited to “I’m sorry for the wait.” We were one of three parties seated inside and eventually all bonded over how slow and poor the service was. We were seated for 10 minutes before I had to flag someone down for drink orders. It turns out, no one had been assigned to our table. Then we waited so long for our food that the host came by and asked us if we were waiting for the check, when, in fact, we were still waiting for our food. Our order had never been entered. After about an hour’s wait, we finally got our food. The table next to us, who had been seated after us, had finished their dinner and were on their way out when our food came out. As they left, they rolled their eyes and said “I hope you think it was worth the wait.” When the manager finally came out, offered an incredibly insincere and canned apology, and handed us a handwritten “coupon” for $25 off our NEXT bill that she had initialed and scribbled on a strip of receipt paper. I requested that the amount be taken off of the present bill since we are most likely not going back to use our “coupon.” We were there a total of 2 hours, due in no part to slow eating or “just hanging out.”
